More World of Warcraft comics added to contest gallery

Blizzard has updated the comic contest gallery with more leftovers from the community comic contest. You can check out the full gallery at the Blizzard community site. If you go through the gallery, you'll see some familiar art styles from some of the bigger WoW comic artists out there. Plus, the comic that Blizzard linked in the blue post put a smile on my face. Oh, Chimaeron, you are hilarious.

Still in the mood for more WoW comics? WoW Insider has got you covered (as usual) with Amanda Miller's weekly Sunday Morning Funnies and, of course, our very own weekly webcomic by Kelly Aarons. Blizzard knows that there are a lot of WoW comic creators out there and, from their continued support and contests for comic creators, definitely like showing off what the community has to offer.

More World of Warcraft Comics
We have some tasty leftovers from our community comic contest to share. This comic was submitted by Shannon Fowler (Amyiss). Check out the full gallery here.

It came from the Blog: Pilgrim’s Bounty 2010 snapshots

Back in November, the It came from the Blog family of guilds celebrated Pilgrim's Bounty by getting a few achievements together. Most of us were able to get Food Fight, Sharing is Caring and Pilgrim's Paunch. Some cooking happened, along with some running and a whole lot of silliness. Check out the gallery below for all of the food-related shenanigans.

Please join us on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) in <It came from the Blog>. Guild ranks of Blog Lurker or above can invite, so /whisper Robiness or any online member. You are all welcome as long as you play by our simple rules -- basically, don't be a funsucker! Visit the guild FAQ for more details.

BlizzCon 2010: Of booths and graffiti

A graffiti wall is put up for each day of BlizzCon. Markers are provided in multiple colors and attendees are encouraged to make their marks. Hey, is that a reference to <It came from the Blog>? I wonder who put that there. /whistle innocently

The show floor at BlizzCon provides fun each year in the form of interactive areas, vendor booths and large, shiny objects. No sparkle ponies, though ... unfortunately. Check it out in the gallery below. Shiny.

BlizzCon 2010: Retro Arcade

Blizzard released Lost Vikings almost two decades ago and has been making games ever since. Obviously proud of the company's history, BlizzCon has an arcade to play the older titles. The games, their years of release and their promotional posters are in the gallery below.

BlizzCon 2010: Costumes and crowds

WoW Insider has been working the lines this morning and was able to chat with Hogger, Jaina Proudmoore and so many of our favorite WoW characters at BlizzCon 2010. We'll be updating the gallery as we get more pictures. The first few are just from the line before the opening ceremonies. More crazy great costumes and the people behind them as the event continues!

It came from the Blog: Brewfest 2010 snapshots and video

Last month, we held our annual Brewfest event in <It came from the Blog>. We completed the quests together, drank a lot of virtual brew and did a lot of running around. Unfortunately, we all found out that Robinemia can't hold her booze. How embarrassing.

Though Blizzard has made us split our guild into a few smaller ones, our family of guilds will still be participating in holiday events. Look for the Hallow's End event in the week after BlizzCon and a Pilgrim's Bounty event next month. As usual, you are all welcome to join us, as long as you aren't a funsucker.

The picture above links to the video of the event and below are a few snapshots. Join us next time!

Patch 4.0.1 introduces reforging into the game

One of the features that is in patch 4.0.1 is the new reforging feature. This allows you to adjust armor, weapons and trinkets to better line up with the stats you need. The whole concept essentially allows more gear to be used instead of disenchanted. It also allows you to game your stats a little bit more by turning an item that would be providing way too much hit rating into something that provided some hit rating and critical strike rating.

There are a few restrictions:
  • You can only change secondary stats (hit, crit, haste, mana regen, dodge, etc.).
  • Only one stat may be changed.
  • You can't change one stat into a different stat the item already has.
  • You can't alter how much of the stat to change; it's always 40 percent(ish) of the original amount.
  • The item must have an item level of at least 200 (level 80 epics or higher).
Otherwise, the price of reforging is the same as the sell price of the item. You can always restore an item back to its original stats for free if you decide you don't like the new setup. This allows you to try out different setups (paying the full reforge cost each time) until you find the right fit.

Where can you find these reforging guys? They are usually found in major cities near the enchanting trainers. If you can't find them, be sure to ask a guard, who'll point you in the right direction.

All in all, the reforging system is pretty simple and provides the opportunity for us to start trying out the new mastery stat without waiting for Cataclysm itself to be released. If you'd like to take a look at how this works, here's a gallery walking you the process through step by step.

Choose My Adventure: Prupher pictorial and Gilneas excursion

Choose the adventures of the WoW Insider staff as we level our characters in <It came from the Blog> on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H).

Spoiler warning: Robinemia's story and video after the break are full of Cataclysm spoilers. You have been warned.

Peenk the gnome priestess is winning the polls as of this writing, but some boring human to see the new starting quests is close behind, if you want to tip the votes toward that instead. Of course, if worgen females are actually playable by Wednesday's stream, I'll drop everything to play a worgen druidess instead. Recaps from last week are after the break, but first, here's the schedule.

Schedule
  • Adam Holisky as Adammentat, the level 65 tauren druid, will play on Monday at 10 p.m. EDT.
  • Anne Stickney as Annephora, the level 42 troll warrior, will play on Tuesday at 1 a.m. EDT (which is Monday at 11 p.m. Zangarmarsh time).
  • Robin Torres will play whomever wins the polls: Wednesday, 1 p.m. EDT. Note: This will be streamed.
Adventurers who play when they can
  • Fox Van Allen as Foxlight, the level 26 blood elf paladin
  • Lisa Poisso as Prupher, the level 12 tauren druid
  • Michael Sacco as Shockbroker, the goblin shaman
  • Christian Belt, as Selfloathius, the level 16 blood elf warlock
  • Robin Torres, as Robinemia, the level 29 Forsaken mage
  • Matthew Rossi as Andrenorton, the level 17 troll mage
  • Gregg Reece as Sandwichdoc, the level 17 troll shaman

Cataclysm Beta: New loading screen gallery

A new build of the Cataclysm beta just dropped, and with the update came a makeover for the loading screens for all four continents. They now feature the faction leaders for Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, Maiev and Akama for Outland, and the most recent Lich King in Northrend.
