Zarhym -- Battleground experience in patch 3.3.3
There is a change going into patch 3.3.3 that will double the amount of Honor gained for completing objectives in Battlegrounds. Because experience gains directly correlate to the amount of Honor gained for completing such objectives, the change would double the amount of experience gained. While we do want to double the Honor gained to make obtaining PvP gear through Battlegrounds more on par with the rate at which players can obtain PvE gear via the Dungeon Finder, we are happy with the current experience gain rate and do not want it to change. For this reason we're decreasing the experience awarded by 50%. The net result is the same.

As an example, here are some made up numbers for completing a Battleground objective:

Current - 300 Honor, 500 experience

Increase Honor gains by 100% in 3.3.3 - 600 Honor, 1000 experience

Decrease experience gains by 50% in 3.3.3 - 600 Honor, 500 experience

Nethaera -- WSG experts: we want your tactics!
The industrious gnomes and goblins at World of Warcraft: Official Magazine are currently working on issue two. One of its regular features is "Battlegrounds Back to Basics" - this time around covering Warsong Gulch.

As part of that feature, we're looking for hints and tips from WSG veterans. Is that you? If so, please feel free to post your favorite Warsong Gulch one-line strategies, tactics and tricks that help give you the winning edge. They can either be team oriented, or even class specific. The best suggestions will be incorporated into the feature as quotes - and of course your character will be fully credited. Remember - these should be straightforward one-liners - we're not looking for long paragraphs packed with intricate details.

Thanks in advance to all!

Several of you pointed out yesterday that the blue quotes were showing up outside of the normal iPhone / iPod Touch page width. This problem should now be corrected.

Ghostcrawler

Ghostcrawler has been known to say he doesn't like his quotes being taken out of context, but in this case, how could I resist?

Ghostcrawler -- MW2?
I was pwned. Headshot.

Now on to the real stuff...

Ghostcrawler -- Healer's stressful job
But the stress is why it's fun!

Here is the best advice I can give someone who feels overwhelmed. Your job isn't to keep everyone at 100%. Your job is to keep anyone from hitting 0%. If someone's hurt, but stable, then they may not need your attention right away. You're the medic, so you need to practice triage. There will be enough breaks to get those folks who aren't at 100% back up there at some point.

This is the part where focusing on unit frames to the exclusion of all else can get you in trouble. As you start to really learn the fights, you tend to get a feeling for when the damage is coming. If the boss is going to do a big AE pulse soon, then try and get everyone up quickly. If the hunter pulled aggro and got hit, but has since feigned, then she's probably okay for a bit.

Ghostcrawler

Ghostcrawler -- 3.3.3 Mage changes
The Combustion change was to let its cooldown line up better with e.g. trinket cooldowns. It just felt awkward at 3 min.

The Fireball glyph change was because some Fire mages were getting such absurdly high crit rates that even more crit wasn't attractive. We weren't trying to make this particular glyph ridiculously powerful.

The actual dps increases are something more like adding Pyroblast to Torment the Weak and Empowered Fire. That may have missed the most recent patch notes.

I would also expect Arcane damage to fall overall with the Incanter's Absorption change. (Torment is also gratuitously overpowered, but that would be too big a change for now.) That should get Fire a lot closer to Arcane. Getting Frost up there too is harder, but we're still trying.

The Daily Blues

Each day WoW.com will take you through all the blue posts and other Blizzard news from around the internet. From Ghostcrawler's latest posts to the latest news on StarCraft II and Diablo III, we'll keep you informed.

Welcome to a new daily column at WoW.com! In this column we'll rounding up all the blue posts and other Blizzard news and quotes from around the internet. We'll be publishing this every night, and as long as Blizzard is posting, you'll hear it here at the end of the day, in a nice and handy post.

While the column will be 90% WoW, 10% of it or so will also be about other Blizzard games. We realize a whole lot of you (nearly all of you?) are at least passively interested in StarCraft II and other Blizzard games, and we hope we can keep you apprised as necessary about all that news as well.

Ghostcrawler

Ghostcrawler -- Immolate
The intent of the Immolate buff was to buff Destro.

This is one of those situations where you can't just say that Immolate is used by Demo so it buffs Demo too. It does. But it buffs Destro a lot more because Destro gets so much more benefit from Fire spells.

If you think this is not the case, please provide us some evidence using math, simulations, target dummy parses or whatever.

Ghostcrawler -- Cataclysm Gear Changes Information
We're working on a large forum post to go step by step with how some of the existing gear will be changing.

Overall, we want everyone's damage, healing and tanking to stay about the same, but given that talent trees are changing at the same time as gear, it's going to take some adjustment.

Update on the Ghostcrawler situation

We reported this weekend on Ghostcrawler's self-imposed break from the forums. The response by the majority of the so-called mature fans was quite negative. Many were furious, and rightfully so in my opinion. It appeared that a key source of information for the community was taking leave. Right on the cusp of the Cataclysm alpha/beta, this would have been a terrible time for that to occur. We'd likely be in the dark about changes until they were discovered on the beta/PTR, and even then there would be little to no definitive philosophical discussion about the reasons behind the new content.

Ghostcrawler was apparently touched by the fan support, which you can see both in our post and the forum thread in the role forums. He's come back out and said that he will only be responding to topics he wants, rather than allowing clamoring forum-goers to push him into responding (or not responding).

This has been evident lately in the Shadow Priest QQ going on. When he doesn't respond to what is clearly inappropriate discourse, people get really angry. They think Blizzard is ignoring them, which isn't the case. The role forums are about discussion between players with Ghostcrawler occasionally appearing to offer some insight. Designers read everything on those forums, blue tagged or not.

His exact words, after the break.
